Everyone in England can now get twice-weekly COVID tests for free under a new initiative to help track the spread of Coronavirus and keep the route out of lockdown on track.
The tests will be available from locations such as pharmacies, workplaces and community spaces and can be ordered for home delivery. Lateral flow devices provide a result in under 30 minutes, and involve a swab in the nose or mouth, with the user able to get the result at home without sending it away. It is hoped that increasing testing will identify more asymptomatic, allowing them to isolate and break the chain of transmission.
Anyone showing typical COVID symptoms such as a high temperature, a new continuous cough, or a loss or change of smell or taste should book a PCR test online or by calling 119 and self-isolate immediately.
