The General Dental Council (GDC) has advised that some dental care professionals have experienced difficulties using MyGDC during this year’s annual renewal process. Reported issues include problems resetting passwords and duplicate contact records affecting a small number of accounts.
The GDC recognises that these issues may have caused frustration and inconvenience and has published additional guidance to help registrants resolve common problems.
Support Available
The guidance includes information on:
- How to log in to MyGDC for the first time.
- What to do if you cannot locate the email containing your verification code.
- How to reset your password, including access to a step-by-step video guide.
- What to do if you cannot see your full account information after logging in.
- How to check that your Annual Retention Fee (ARF) payment has been successfully processed.
If You Are Experiencing Difficulties
If you are encountering any issues with MyGDC during the annual renewal process, we encourage you to review the guidance published by the GDC, as it may help resolve your query quickly.
The GDC has also confirmed that it is increasing capacity within its call centre to provide additional support to registrants and is following up directly with individuals who have already reported issues.
As important renewal deadlines approach, we recommend checking your MyGDC account as soon as possible to ensure your registration requirements have been completed successfully.
