GDC – Annual Renewal 2026

The GDC annual renewal period for 2026 is now open and will close on 31st July 2026, so now is the time for dental technicians and DCPs to take action.

As a dental lab owner, it’s important to support your team and ensure they understand what’s required to remain on the register.

What needs to be completed?

Each technician must:

  • Pay the Annual Retention Fee (ARF) of £108 by 31st July (via MyGDC or Direct Debit)
  • Submit an indemnity declaration by 31st July
  • Complete a CPD statement by 28th August

Don’t forget CPD

Technicians should check their CPD progress through their MyGDC account now.

  • Dental technicians must complete at least 50 hours over a five-year cycle
  • Clinical dental technicians must complete 75 hours
  • A minimum of 10 hours every two years is required

Even if no CPD has been completed this year, a statement must still be submitted.

Any CPD completed from 1st August onwards will count towards the next year (26/27).

Final reminders

Technicians are responsible for keeping evidence of their CPD, so it’s important to ensure providers supply verifiable certificates.
